Why we work off the car
Painting a wheel that is still on the car is a compromise. We dismount tyres, strip wheels back, repair kerb damage, and respray on a fixture so the back of the spokes get the same finish as the front.
Available finishes
- Gloss, satin or matte solid colours
- Diamond-cut effect (lacquered finish)
- Two-tone applications — face and lip in different colours
- Full anthracite, gunmetal or graphite respray
- Custom colour to match a body wrap or paint code

Removal
The car is on the lift, wheels are off, tyres are dismounted on our in-house tyre machine.
Strip
Old paint is removed by a mix of chemical strip and shot-blasting, depending on the wheel construction.
Repair
Kerb damage, light corrosion and casting flaws are filled and sanded back to a flat profile.
Prime
An etching primer keys to bare metal, followed by filler primer and a guide-coat sand.
Colour & clear
Two-pack colour and a UV-stable clear coat for road longevity.
Refit & balance
Tyres are remounted, wheels are balanced, and the car is road-tested before hand-back.
Alloy refinishing questions
How long does a set of four take?
Two working days, including tyre re-mount and balance. We can fit a courtesy set if you need the car between drop-off and collection.
Can you save a wheel that is buckled?
Most light buckles can be straightened by a partner specialist before we paint. Severely deformed wheels are usually not safe to refurbish — we will say so honestly on inspection.
Do you refinish diamond-cut wheels?
Yes — diamond-cut faces are re-machined off-site and we handle the full strip, lacquer and refit. Lead time runs to four working days.
Bring the wheels back to life
Send us photos of the wheels and your preferred finish, and we will quote and book a slot.
