What sets a proper caliper finish apart
We remove the calipers from the car, strip them mechanically and chemically, mask the bores and pistons, and apply a high-temperature paint system with a two-stage clear coat. The car is on stands for the duration of the work.
Available finishes
- Yondex stock palette — ten gloss colours plus matte black and graphite
- Custom mix to a manufacturer or aftermarket caliper colour
- Branded callipers — vinyl-cut decal applied under the clear coat for longevity
- Two-tone applications — caliper body in one colour, lettering masked in another
Removal
Calipers are unbolted, the brake lines are clamped, and the car remains safely on stands during the work.
Strip & mask
Old paint is removed mechanically. Bores, pistons and slides are masked off — paint never touches anything mechanical.
Etch & prime
An etching primer goes down to grip cast metal, followed by a heat-resistant filler primer.
Colour & clear
Two-pack colour is laid in three thin passes, followed by a high-temperature clear coat.
Cure cycle
The booth runs a controlled bake cycle to lock the finish before any handling.
Refit
Calipers are bolted back on, brake lines bled, and the car is road-tested before hand-back.
Caliper-painting questions we hear most
How long does a set of four take?
One full working day. The car is dropped off in the morning and back on the road by close of play.
Will the paint survive a track day?
Yes — the system we use is rated to 800°C continuous. We have customers running it on track-day cars without issue, provided the paint is allowed to fully cure before heavy use.
Can I have a manufacturer logo on the calipers?
Yes, applied as a vinyl decal under the clear coat. We will not apply trademarked logos for resale purposes — only for the car staying with you.
Pick a colour, drop in a car
Most caliper bookings can be slotted in within a fortnight. Send a few photos and the car will be priced on inspection.
