Full exterior respray

A factory-grade respray is forty-eight hours of paintwork wrapped around six days of preparation. Here is how a complete project runs at Yondex.

The service

What a respray actually involves

A full exterior respray means every external panel — bonnet, wings, roof, doors, boot, sills and bumpers — is taken back to a sound, paintable surface and rebuilt with a complete paint system. Door shuts and engine bay are included on request.

Suitable for

  • Cars with widespread lacquer peel or oxidation
  • Whole-vehicle stone chip or weather damage
  • Pre-sale preparation for a private vehicle
  • Any car the owner simply wants to look factory-fresh again

What it is not

  • A wrap or vinyl finish — this is full liquid paint
  • An insurance-grade smart repair — we do not undercut prep time
Stage by stage

How the project moves through the studio

Inspection

Each panel is photographed and graded. We agree which trim is removed, which is masked, and what the target colour code is.

Strip-down

Badges, lights, mirrors and where appropriate door cards come off. The car is washed, decontaminated and de-tarred.

Substrate work

Dents are pulled, perforations welded, primer-filler applied where required. Every panel is block-sanded flat by hand.

Booth — base coat

Multi-stage base coat applied in a controlled bake cycle. Pearls and metallics are blended panel-by-panel.

Booth — clear coat

Two-pack clear coat for depth and chip resistance. The car spends the night in the booth before being released.

De-nib & polish

Any micro-imperfections are flatted and machine-polished out. Trim, lights and badges are re-fitted.

Frequently asked

About full resprays at Yondex

How long does a full respray take?

Eight to twelve working days for most cars. Classics, projects with welding work, or unusual paint finishes can extend that — we always agree the timeline in writing.

Will the new paint match the door shuts?

If shuts and engine bay are included in the project, yes — the paint code and finish will be uniform throughout. If you prefer to keep shuts in the original colour, we will agree blend points before starting.

Do you respray classics?

Yes, but only after a thorough metal inspection. Classics are usually a six-to-eight week project once welding and substrate prep are factored in.

Ready to discuss a respray?

Send us photos of the car and we will reply with a written estimate within one working day.
