How a project runs

From first call to clear-coat sign-off

A respray you can trust is the result of fifteen unglamorous decisions made before paint is ever loaded into the gun. Here is how we run them.

Inspection

We photograph every panel, log existing repairs and discuss exactly what the finished car should feel like.

Quote & plan

A line-by-line written quote — products, prep stages, target turnaround, and any panels we recommend leaving alone.

Strip & prep

Trims, badges and lights come off. Surfaces are flatted, blemishes are fixed, and the car spends its time being prepared, not painted.

Booth work

Down-draught spray booth, sealed environment, multi-stage colour and clear coat applied with a controlled bake cycle.

QC & polish

De-nibbing, machine polish, panel-fit recheck. Nothing leaves the booth until two technicians have signed it off.

Handover

You receive a folder: products used, batch numbers, care notes and the signed warranty document.

Yondex was set up by three former bodyshop foremen who wanted to run a studio the way they always wished theirs were run. We turned a single bay in Bermondsey into a fully equipped paint floor — and we have stayed there ever since.

Things owners typically want to know

How long does a full respray usually take at Yondex?

Most full-body projects spend between seven and twelve working days with us — preparation is the longest phase by some distance. We confirm a written timeline at the start of each booking and update you if anything shifts.

Can you match an unusual factory colour?

Yes, in nearly every case. We use a spectrophotometer to read the existing paint and blend a panel sample before any colour goes onto the car. If the colour cannot be matched within tolerance, we will tell you on the first visit.

Do I need to leave the keys with you for the whole job?

For full resprays and colour changes, yes. For partial work, alloy refinishing or PPF projects we agree a drop-off and collection slot in advance.

Is the lifetime warranty really for life?

Yes — for as long as you own the vehicle. The warranty covers any defect introduced by our work or the products we use. Stone chips, accidents and chemical damage are not covered, but we are happy to repair them at workshop rates.

Do you cover collection and delivery?

Within Greater London we offer a complimentary collection and return service for full-body projects. For other postcodes we arrange a fixed-fee covered transporter.

Can I see the studio before booking?

Always. Saturday mornings tend to be the calmest — drop us a line and we will set aside thirty minutes to walk you through the booth and the work currently on the floor.

An inspection takes about thirty minutes. You leave with a written quote, target turnaround and a clear sense of which panels are worth working on — and which are not.
